All children now have a Read Write Inc Sounds Book that were given out at parent's evening.

Please use the book at home to practise saying the sound that each letter makes and ensure your child is writing the sound using the correct formation. Guidance for each sound is in the book.

Most children can say their number names in order but can they actually count?

Give children a  group of objects (pasta, buttons, toys etc) and ask them to count them accurately. Children should be saying one number name for each object. It's quite a  skill. We call this 1:1 correspondence.
