World Book Day 2017

Who were the winners?

Reading is at the heart of everything we do at NJK and World Book Day is a special day to celebrate this fact.

This year the children from 'Fun With Books Club', held on a Thursday after school, have organised the event.

They are organising a NJK Book Oscars and this is what they have planned.

Monday 27th February - They will explain during assembly how the Book Oscars will work to the whole school and how everyone can participate.

Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March - 'Ballot Boxes' will be in the school library in order for everyone to vote.

Wednesday 1st March- At the end of the day 'Ballot Boxes' will be collected in and votes counted.

Thursday 2nd March - WORLD BOOK DAY

In the morning children from each year group will take part in 5 fun, practical, active and arty activities that support the learning of spellings. They will have some great ideas to share with you when they get home and photograph's of the activities will be loaded on to the website for you to view.

Later in the day there will be a whole school 'Oscars Ceremony' where members of 'Fun with Books Club' will announce the winners of each book category (as voted by the children of NJK).

To help make the event memorable children are invited to wear smart non -school uniform clothes on this day, in anticipation for the Oscars ceremony. We ask that children wear school shoes with their outfit as they are the most appropriate footwear during outside / break times.
