Maya Day
The children had a wonderful day consolidating all their learning from our History unit on the Maya. They played traditional games, weaved baskets, made worry dolls, wrote their names in traditional hieroglyphs and got to experience what it would have been like to have lived in Mayan times through VR and AR technology.

Maths - Times Tables Practise
As well as practising their times tables everyday through our Number Sense programme, the children enjoyed 'battling' each other today on TTRS. A boys vs girls battle made everyone answer as many questions as they could in the allotted time, and the boys were victorious with 1,200 points! Well done everyone! Let's see if the girls can win the next battle!

Science - Sound
The children really enjoyed exploring sounds in our first lesson of our new unit. Watching the rice jump out of the tambourine as they hit and the water spray out as they put the tuning fork into it was fantastic!

Christmas Crafts
The children have loved making Christmas cards and Christmas trees for their friends and family.

Year 3 and 4 Cross Country
Ash Class competed brilliantly in our annual cross country race which included children from Orchard Primary School. They all showed amazing determination and sportsmanship, completing the course on a cold and muddy day! Well done Ash!
Rail Safety Visitor
On Thursday 14th November, Imogen from Platform, delivered a special travel sustainability assembly to the children and then spoke to the class about staying safe on the rail network.

History - Trip to Norton Barracks
The children enjoyed a morning looking around St. James' Church and walking to the Norton Barracks in order to learn about the history of the Barracks. It was a brilliant 'wow' start to our local history unit. We were so lucky to be joined by ex-army soldiers and a historian who could share their wealth of knowledge and stories. It was an amazing morning where the children showed respect for the fallen soldiers and they asked insightful and interesting questions. Well done Ash Class!
History and English - Egyptian Canopic Jars
The children have loved making their own canopic jars to finish off our History topic of Ancient Egypt. They showed wonderful creativity and have written instructions in English to show the process they undertook. Well done Ash Class!
Science - learning the names and functions of our teeth
In science, the children used playdough to make models of our teeth, thinking carefully about their shape and how that linked to their function. They labelled them with the correct name and what each of the different teeth does.
