Mrs Dean has been gifted some very precious Maundy Thursday coins from someone in her family and she was kind enough to tell the children all about the history of these old coins. Rowan Class would like to say a very special thank you to Mrs Dean and Barbara for sharing these unique coins with us. It was a real privilege and the pupils loved having the opportunity to see such rare coins.
Together, with love and joy, we will discover, develop & maximise potential.
Our vision at NJK remains integral to everything we do even during this difficult lockdown period.
We want to come together and celebrate your achievements.
We believe it is important to commemorate this time. We are so proud of our pupils, our families and our whole community. It is so important to find love and joy and continue to ensure we can maximise our potential, whether that is through academic pursuits or by helping and caring for others, or discovering and developing new skills.
Jesus taught us to live and act in the love of God, and to see whatever we have as a gift from God.
1 Peter 4:10 (NIV) "Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."
Please enjoy the following photograph's which will really encapsulate our school vision...
Spirituality and Inter Faith Week November 2020
Aims:
The whole school had a fabulous time celebrating Inter Faith Week. Due to current national restrictions we were unable to have people from different faiths visit our school but we were very fortunate that they kindly offered to send us a video instead.
We asked Josh and Rachel who are Christian, Yvonne who is Jewish and Satya who is Buddhist "How does your faith inspire you to care for our world?"
We started the week watching a clip of David Attenborough's 'A life on our planet' which certainly inspired us …… to explore the sense of awe and wonder in the world and be inspired to be creative and imaginative.
Willow Class - Reception - Inter-Faith Week - November 2020
Willow class were really inspired by the 'virtual visits' and videos of David Attenborough.
They quickly decided that they would tidy up the outside area and then used all the natural object that they found to create art to celebrate our wonderful world.
They looked at photograph's of Andy Goldsworthy's natural art and made some themselves. They also created a digital art version too.
As the week continued other natural art was created. Ice sculptures, porcelain clay decorations and leaf garlands were all made and displayed.
After watching the 'virtual visit videos' we talked about how our visitors were inspired by their faith to care for our world. We wrote down some of the things we learnt.
Hazel Class
During Interfaith Week we heard from people with different faiths about how their faith inspired them to take care of the world. We found out they all agreed that their faith inspired them to care for the world as it is a very important place.
We wanted to care for the world too so we used so old plastic bottle tops to make something new. You can see photographs of what we made on our class page!
We have also started to collect crisp packets so they can be made into blankets for homeless people to help keep them warm.

Welcome to the gallery!
Remember to visit 'Class' pages to view up to date work and photographs too.
Netball Match - NJK Vs St Barnabas
On Thursday, 15th February, NJK played a netball match against Drakes Broughton. There were 4 quarters and the whole match lasted for 24 minutes.
We played lots of different positions which was great fun. Everyone played really well. In the first quarter Drakes Broughton scored their first goal closely followed by NJK. Millie was our goal shooter and she scored a great goal. After that, St Barnabas score 3 more.
At the end of the match the score was 4 – 1 to St Barnabas. Even though we lost, we still really enjoyed it and can’t wait to play again. Congratulations to Lily for getting player of the match which was chosen by Drakes Broughton.
