Worcester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival

This year, we decided to bring the whole school together during these difficult times, by entering a Christmas Tree into the Worcester Cathedral Christmas Tree Festival.

Each child in the school designed and made a bauble for the tree, following the theme of 'Diversity - Christmas Around the World'. Classes were each given a different continent, from which they selected a country and researched the Christmas traditions.

The countries represented were:

    Willow - Australia (Australasia)

    Rowan - Antarctica

    Hazel - Tanzania (Africa)

    Oak - Brazil (South America)

    Ash - France (Europe)

    Maple - Japan (Asia)

    Elm - Canada (North America)

As well as making baubles, pupils had an opportunity to enter a competition to design a poster which would be displayed alongside our school Christmas Tree in the Cathedral. Grace in Year 6 was selected as the winning entry and her poster can be seen in the picture of our beautiful tree.

Below are the runner-up designs from the poster competition.
